Néovinum, the temple of Ardèche wine

The cellar of the Ardèche winegrowers

Since 1967, the Ardèche winegrowers’ association has brought together hundreds of winegrowers who share the same values: a passion for the vine and the land, respect for nature, collective and united work and a desire to share and exchange. They produce and sell wines using a wide variety of grape varieties.

From red wines based on syrah, chatus, cabernet sauvignon or pinot noir to fresh and fruity rosés and white wines based on viognier, chardonnay, sauvignon and white grenache, wine lovers will find something to satisfy their taste buds during their camping holidays in the Ardèche.

To taste and buy these wines, one place is essential: the Néovinum, located in Ruoms. This cellar also serves as a shop reserved exclusively for the wines of the Ardèche winegrowers. You will find Côtes du Vivarais, Côtes du Rhône, Grès des Cévennes and many other local wines, often organic. There are also beautiful wine accessories for sale, perfect for bringing back a souvenir of your stay in the Ardèche. Above all, you can wander freely around the cellar, visit the interactive space dedicated to wine and even take part in a tasting session.

Visit to the Neovinum

Neovinum is located on Boulevard de l’Europe Unie in Ruoms. It takes about 22 minutes to get there from the camping Les Ranchisses in Chassiers by taking the D5 until after Le Ginestet, then a stretch of the 104 until Bellevue and the D4 until Ruoms. Whether you are a wine lover or not, a visit to the Néovinum in Ruoms will allow you to discover a facet of the Ardèche, a complex land combining history, nature and traditions. A visit to the Néovinum is a real immersion in the world of Ardèche wine.

A whole course in 5 areas will allow you to understand wine in a playful and amusing way.

The first room is dedicated to the terroir. This is where we talk about the land, the vines, the geology. You will learn everything there is to know about vine growing, harvesting, etc.

The second room is called the Chai room. This is where we learn about the different techniques used in the winemaking process, how the grapes are transformed into wine.

The third room is the one for taste and taste buds. When you leave this room you will know how to describe a wine and match a dish.

The fourth room is the tasting room. During the tasting you will put theory into practice. You will learn to identify the grape varieties and aromas of the wine.

Finally, the educational area allows adults and children alike to understand the work of the Ardèche winegrowers and the history of the Ardèche vineyards.
