At the gateway to the Ardèche gorges and the camping Les Ranchisses, Enter the magical world of the grotte Saint Marcel. Don’t miss the Gours waterfall, a unique calcite formation in Europe. Sound and light shows will accompany you throughout your visit.
You can also explore the cave on caving trips: abseiling, zip lines and monkey bridges will hold no secrets for you! To combine business with pleasure, the grotte Saint Marcel also offers wine tours to taste the wines of the region while discovering the interior of the cave.
The megalithic remains
From the cave, a path of about 3 km has been laid out in the heart of the forest to help you discover the surrounding megalithic remains. Named “Le chemin de la grosse pierre”, it allows you to discover the fauna and flora along the Gorges de l’Ardèche, offering you a delightful alternation between the shade of the garrigue and the viewpoints overlooking the Gorges. Thematic totems mark out the route, giving you details of the menhir and the dolmen that you will come across during your walk. You can hire a multimedia GPS at the start of the Saint Martin d’Ardèche caves for a hike in complete peace of mind.
The temperature in the cave does not exceed 14°C. So don’t hesitate to cover up and don’t forget your trainers.
