The village of Villeneuve-de-Berg in Ardèche

The small town of Villeneuve-de-Berg has something to surprise you. Situated on a limestone peak, at an altitude of 325 m, the town is the result of a royal decree dating from 1284. Along with Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, Boucieu-le-Roi and Aigues-Mortes, it is one of the four bastides of the Beaucaire senechaussée. This is why its architecture and heritage are still so rich today.
